Baby Rockstar Lullaby Renditions of Frozen - Review

Baby Rockstar Lullaby Renditions of Frozen

*This post contains sponsored content*

My kids, like most others, are still completely addicted to Frozen.  They run around the house singing Let It Go and all of the other songs nonstop.  It is the cutest thing ever.  They love listening to music at bed time also.  I have tried letting them listen to their favorite songs at bed time but that always turns into a night time rock party.  Who can sleep when their jam is on?!  I tried nature sounds one time.  It took me a few nights of bed wetting to realize that young kids and waterfall sounds during the night don't mix well.

The Baby Rockstar Lullaby Renditions of Frozen is one of those things that you see and instantly think I should have thought of that.  It's something that only a sleep deprived, Frozen overdosed, crazy mom would have thought of.  You just want to find that mom and hug her!  The music is familiar enough that the kids recognize it as Frozen but the beat is slow enough that they don't want to have a rock party.  The first time that we listened to this CD was in the car during parent pickup.  Ainsley was tired.  She was screaming.  I had grabbed the mail on the way out and the CD happened to be in it.  I threw it in the CD player and just a few minutes later she was asleep.  A few minutes later I was almost asleep.  We don't keep it in the car anymore lol.

Here is a little information about the CD:
Walt Disney's Frozen soundtrack melodically performed with sleepy tones and soothing bells with light percussion!

Baby Rockstar rearranges the chart topping hit as beautiful melodies played by soothing bells mixed with sleepy tones and light percussive effects. These calming and dreamy renditions will help get your little rockstars ready for bedtime. Baby Rockstar releases ignite a musical curiosity in your little ones and will be favorites of young children, and their parents, for years to come.

This CD is great.  The music is precious and it does help the kids drift off to sleep.  They are able to calm down while listening to music that is familiar to them.  If you are interested in purchasing or learning more about this product you may do so by clicking here.

Karaoke Sing Along Machine - Review

Karaoke Sing Along Machine

Imaginative play has always been important to me.  It's more than just fun and games.  It's a learning experience for kids.  Kids learn though play.  They enjoy themselves and they absorb so much more when they are having fun.  Singing is an excellent opportunity for learning.  Think about how much faster children learn the ABC's when they sing the ABC song than when they try to just say them.  There are tons of educational songs that kids pick up and they don't even realize that they are learning something!  It's amazing.

The Karaoke Sing Along Machine by Kidzlane is just the most adorable little toy!  It's the perfect toy for helping children explore the world of creativity.  All kids love pretending to be a rock star and with this karaoke machine they can do just that.

This isn't your everyday karaoke machine. It does so much more than simply play music.  It includes a light up disco ball and sound effects.  It connects to an MP3 player allowing children to sing along to their favorite songs and also includes 3 music beats which gives them the ability to create their own songs.  The included sound effects are applause and boos.  My kids LOVE the boo option!  They think it is hilarious to boo each other :)  The light up disco ball makes for epic dramatic effect.  Dim the lights and your living room turns into your own personal karaoke studio.

My kids have spent countless hours playing with this karaoke machine.  It is their favorite item in the house.

I have enjoyed it also.  The kids have played together more with this toy.  I love things that get them together since their ages don't allow for that often.  When I received the machine the first thing that I noticed is that it was so simple to assemble.  It wasn't screwed into the box like so many toys are now.  It took just a few minutes to have it assembled and ready to use.  It came with batteries so I didn't have to waste any time hunting down some to fit it.  The machine is made of durable plastic that is holding up very well.  My kiddos are extremely destructive and if it can survive them then be assured that it is built well.  The microphone stands are adjustable so my 3 year old and 6 year old can both use it without having to bend over or stand on their toes.  It really is the most adorable thing to watch.

I give this product a mommy 5 star rating.  It is made well, it comes with 2 microphones so there is no fighting for the microphone and between the sound effects, lights and music it keeps the kid's interest while also promoting using their imaginations.

Inexpensive Christmas Activities for Families

Inexpensive Holiday Activities for Families

The holiday season is here.  The trees are up, the shopping is underway and all of the usual holiday classics are starting to air on television. Sometimes we forget what the real meaning of the holiday season is.  It's not about gifts, it's about family.  It's hard to remember to slow down and actually enjoy the holidays. Here are just a few of the activities our family enjoys during the holiday season.

1. Bake and decorate cookies for the neighbors and delivery/mail carriers.
Cookies fit perfectly inside of empty Pringles containers.  Wrap them in decorative wrapping paper, let the kids decorate them and fill them with fresh baked cookies.  The kids will have a great time helping and everyone loves cookies!

2.  Dress up in your pj's, fill your travel mugs with hot chocolate and ride around looking for Christmas lights.  My kids love to do this!  We also pack Ziploc bags of popcorn to take along.  One house in our community has a dancing lights show with music, it is always amazing!

3.  Make personalized Christmas ornaments.  You can get a package of the clear cheap ornaments from Walmart or a dollar store for a couple of dollars.  You can paint them or stuff them.  There are endless options of ways to decorate them.  Write the year on the back with a paint pen or a sharpie so that you remember what year they were made.

4. Snowball fight!  Since we don't have snow in Mississippi we make snowballs out of SOCKS!  You can also use Styrofoam balls.

5.  Make wrapping paper for the kids to wrap gifts.  Decorate brown papers bags and let them wrap their gifts to each other.

On Christmas Eve night the grown ups make Santa footprints and reindeer poop.  To make Santa footprints mix brown flour and glitter.  Step in it and walk across the carpet.  To make reindeer poop mix raisins and glitter and pour it out in the yard.  The little kids get so excited when they find the "evidence".

What holiday traditions do you share with your family?

Chef Prove Lemon Zester/Cheese Grater - Review

Fresh is best.  It's healthier, it tastes better..it's best.  That's how I feel about it anyway.  Processed foods are ok, they just don't have the same flavor as the fresh stuff.  Pretty food also tastes better.  Ok, it really doesn't, but it does.  It is a mind over matter kind of thing.  We enjoy food that looks nice much more than food that doesn't look as pretty.  I know I also take a little pride in making a meal that looks amazing.  I also like simplicity.  I prefer simple tools to large, bulky machines.  A small hand tool in most cases is easier to use, store and clean.

I recently received the Chef Prove Lemon Zester/Cheese Grater.  Is there a better time than the holiday season to try out new kitchen items?  This is the time of year that we focus all of our effort on making beautiful and delicious food.  The rest of the year we just throw dinner together but this time of the year we create perfect meals!

The Chef Prove Lemon Zester/Cheese Grater arrived packaged perfectly for shipping.  Care was taken to ensure that it arrived undamaged.  The delivery driver could have thrown it to my house from the road as he was driving by and I'm sure it would not have damaged it one bit.  That's a good thing because I have received boxes that are falling apart.  I love my delivery guy but they aren't exactly gentle with packages and I loves companies that realize that.  The product itself is simple in design, yet functional, which is something else that I really love.  Simple things don't break..well not easily.  The zester is very comfortable to use.  The handle has a rubber grip. It prevents slipping and also makes using the grater very easy on your hands.  This product is very sharp.  I have used it on cheese, garlic, chocolate and lemons so far.  Cleaning it is effortless as it is dishwasher safe.  Another great safety feature is the included cover.  This cover prevents scrapes and cuts while the grater is being stored. It is best to store it out of the reach of children but the added safety feature of a cover is comforting.  The Chef Prove Lemon Zester/Cheese Grater comes with a lifetime money back guarantee.

If you are interesting in learning more about the Chef Proven lemon zester and cheese grater or purchasing this product you may do so by visiting their Amazon listing here.  This product would be a great addition to any kitchen.

Dr Song Professional Teeth Whitening Kit - Review

One of the first things a person notices about us is our smiles.  We all want a beautiful white smile but cleanings alone won't normally accomplish that.  I admit that I slack when it comes to the dentist.  I get the kids to their appointments every 6 months but I don't always make it every 6 months...or year.  I know I should do better but the last thing I want to do I schedule yet another appointment.  Do I really need to go over the list of doctors that we see each month? It's not even a money thing.  Cleanings are free.  Our dental insurance is actually really good.  I have a $50 deductible and then any work that needs to be done is free up to like $1000.  It's 100% I am tired of going to doctor's offices and just do not want to go to another one right now.  New Year's resolution maybe? Yeah, probably not.

I drink coffee...lots and lots of coffee.  I also drink coke.  I do a lot of those things that dentists fuss at you about.  (And the real reason that I don't want to go comes out) My teeth aren't horribly stained.  I mean, I do brush them.  I even do it more than once a day!! I don't get to the dentist as often as I should but I do take care of my teeth.  They are however, not as bright as I would like.  They are a little dull, I guess is how you would describe them.  I tried several of the "home remedies".  I never really saw any results from that.

I recently began using the Dr Song Professional Teeth Whitening Kit.  I wanted to go a shade or 2 lighter.  I remember the episode of Friends when Ross had his teeth whitened.   You know you saw that one!!  I think of that every time I whiten my teeth so the first time I use any product I always use it for less time than the package says.  I don't want to glow in the dark like Ross did.  It's crazy how things stick in your mind!  See how easily I get side tracked?!  Anyway..

This kit is very simple to use.  That is, if you read the directions first. Always read the directions..don't just skim them.  READ the directions. For instance, the directions state: Bring water to a boil. Pour the water into a cup and let sit for 1 minute. Dip the tray into the water for 5 seconds. Make sure the edges do not fold onto each other (occurs when dipped for too long, if this happens, reshape tray back to original form, allow to cool and try again).  I may not have been paying close attention when I was doing this.  If you drop the tray into boiling water it will shrink into a tiny little piece of plastic.  Luckily, I happened to have a spare tray that is identical to these trays and once I took my time and followed the directions it worked perfectly!  The cleaning kit contains the trays, cleaning gel, light and applicator brush.  You simply apply the gel to your teeth, insert the trays and place the light in your mouth.  You leave the gel in for the amount of time you choose from the times on the instructions and you are finished.  I chose 15 minutes.  I have some sensitivity on my front teeth and I chose a shorter time because I didn't want to have any sensitivity when I removed it.

I was shocked when I removed it!  My teeth were at least a full shade lighter!  I think the light makes a huge difference.  It seems to speed up the process.  The kit includes enough gel for over 50 uses.  It is currently listed for $34.99 with free shipping on Amazon with Amazon prime.  That's less than $1.00 per use.  You really can't beat that price!  And it really works!

I spoke with the company about the sensitivity that I experience.  They also sent me a product called their remineralization gel.  I wasn't familiar with this type of product before this.  This product is applied AFTER the whitening treatment to desensitize teeth.  It also restores minerals and helps strengthen enamel with sodium fluoride and potassium nitrate.  This also include enough for 50 treatments.  I did not experience any sensitivity after using the whitener but I applied this just to be safe.

My friend Nicky at Life With Six Children also tried the Dr Song Professional Teeth Whitening Kit recently.  She posted several before and after pictures.  She even added a few of her using the kit.  You can check our her review here.

If you are interested in purchasing or learning more about the Dr Song Products you can view their product listings on Amazon.  Their professional teeth whitening kit is available here.  You can view and purchase their remineralization kit here.

Yoga Design Lab Premium Yoga Mat - Review

Yoga Design Lab Premium Yoga Mat

I wish I could do yoga.  I just don't bend that way lol. What I do enjoy is pilates.

I normally do it on the living room floor.  It's not the most comfortable but for some reason it has never crossed my mind to use a yoga mat.  I try to think outside of the box but sometimes it just doesn't come to me without a little push.

Recently Yoga Design Lab offered me the opportunity to review their wonderful yoga mat and it clicked!  That was the little push I was speaking of :)

I must say it is so much more comfortable working out on a yoga mat!! This mat is very nice.  It is thick with memory foam that provides comfort for all pressure points.  The mat is non-slip so it does not slide during workouts and you do not have to worry about slipping during your workout.  The Yoga Design Lab Premium Yoga Mat is very durable.  With frequent use it is not showing any signs of wear and still looks new.  It is very easy to clean, you simply wipe it off and hang it to dry.  My favorite feature is the attached strap.  It is very convenient having a built in strap. There is no fighting with rolling the mat and putting it into a bag.  It makes traveling with the mat very easy for those that take yoga classes at a studio.

I am very pleased with this mat.  I would certainly recommend it to anyone that is interested in a mat for workout purposes, not just yoga.  If you are interested in purchases a Yoga Design Lab Mat you may do so by visiting their Amazon page here.

FlavFusion 26 Oz Infuser Water Bottle - Review and DISCOUNT

I enjoy doing things that are healthy.  Well, I enjoy healthy things that I enjoy lol.  I love fruit.  I love fruit juice. I love salads.  I love certain veggies.  If it weren't for my love of chocolate I would totally be skinny!

I live in Mississippi where it is 102 degrees in the shade with a breeze in the winter.  Nothing is as good as a cold bottle of water.  A few months ago I decided to jump on board the cucumber water bandwagon.  I will not be trying that again!  Cucumbers are yummy!  Water is yummy!  Cucumber flavored water..pass!  Seriously..pass!! I love lemon water, strawberry water, watermelon water..every fruit you can think of flavored water.  I'm not a fan of artificial sweeteners. I prefer real fruit over packaged fruit flavors.  In the past I have made my own flavored waters.  I simply add fruit to a gallon of water and stick it in the fridge.  A lot of times (especially with lemon water) I catch kids with their hands in there picking the lemons out lol.  It's also not convenient when I am on the go.  I never think about filling a water bottle when I am leaving.  I also end up wasting a lot.  I never seem to drink the whole gallon before the fruit spoils.

I recently received the chance to use and review the FlavFusion 26 Oz Infuser Water Bottle.  This bottle is really adorable.  It has a built in infuser.  It allows you to make 26 oz of flavored water at a time.  This has helped me to cut down on waste because I am making much less at a time.  I am also drinking more because I can grab my bottle as I am walking out the door.  I'm actually save a little money too because I am no longer grabbing a bottle of water or a drink while I am out running errands since I have my infuser water bottle with me at all times.  The infuser works perfectly.  The great thing about this infuser is the placement.  It is located directly below the drinking spout.  This ensures that all water passes through the infuser before drinking.  That means that every drink of water is sure to absorb the maximum about of flavor.  I have used all types of fruit in my infuser bottle and have thoroughly enjoyed it!  This bottle is easy to clean and is designed to withstand daily use.
