When my youngest was born baby carriers resembled mountain climbing gear.  They were these bulky backpacks that were impossible to use.  I refused to purchase one.  By the time you assembled it, loaded the child into it and put it on you had to take a break to catch your breath.  I was not up for that type of work out.  So, I used my stroller and pushed along happily.
