I recently finished Kama Sense Marketing by Jacob Levy. The title of the book peaked my curiosity. I wasn't sure what love had to do with marketing. I don't believe the old saying if you do something you love you never work a day in your life. I believe the opposite is true. People that have a passion about their work usually end up working more and harder. These people are determined to make their dreams succeed. They may enjoy their work more than others but they certainly do not work less.
To be truly successful you have to have passion. If you don't care about the work you are doing you won't be successful. The people that are completely happy are the people that love what they do and they glow when they talk about it. I have heard many times that you have to leave emotion out of work but I think that is why so many people fail. You can remove emotion because without that passion you have nothing. You may be promoted or recognized but if you are not passionate about what you do you will not be successful. You won't have an inner feeling of pride and love for your work. That is success.
After reading this book I can understand where the author is coming from. We are driven by emotion. Nearly every decision we make is emotion based. Why should that be left out of our work lives? This book is full of advice on how to win over your customer base. It breaks the tips down into categories not only explaining them but also giving research to prove their success. There has been much time and energy put into the writing of this book.
The title is eye catching. I'm sure many people have clicked on the link for this book just because of the title. Marketing can be hard. Selling your business is not an easy thing in a world so full of competition. This book gives you an advantage over the competition. I honestly believe that everyone reading this book will find ways to use many of the tips included. It certainly changes the way you look at doing business..for the better.
