Who is familiar with Rose Hip Seed Oil? I was not before I was introduced to this Yumi Beautiful Rose Hip Seed Oil. I'm not quick to jump on bandwagons however, I am quick to Google. I Google everything so when I, of course, Googled Rose Hip Seed Oil right off the bat to see exactly what it is.
Rose Hip Seed Oil contains provitamin A which is mostly beta-Carotene. It has been said to contain retinol, which is vitamin A however, this is not correct. Vitamin A is solely made by animals from provitamin A. Rose hip seed oil is also high in linoleic acid also known as omego-6 and linolenic acid or omeg-3.
I suppose I have been under a rock somewhere since I wasn't aware of it's existence. I am sure I have probably used a product containing it in the past without knowing it. It is commonly used in skin care products that treat dermatitis and acne as well as eczema. My son has mild eczema and I have purchased tons of OTC creams attempting to control it. I try to avoid using his steroid cream as much as possible. I'm going to go through our medicine cabinet tonight and see if any of his creams have Rose Hip Seed Oil in them. It is also used to fight aging, sunburn and brittle nails. There have been positive results seen in using Rose Hip Seed Oil to treat scars and to diminish photo-aging. This stuff sounds like a little bottle of juice straight from the fountain of youth. I need to buy it by the gallon and bathe in it nightly. I should contact the manufacturer about a bulk discount. I will add that to my list of things to do tomorrow.
When I received the notification that this product had shipped I had just started using another product and wasn't sure how I was going to review both. My timing wasn't working out well for this one and I panicked slightly. (I'm quick to panic lol) Then I had a brilliant idea..I will use my kids lab rats ha ha. My oldest is a new teenager. She has recently developed a small acne issue and we have tried a few things that have helped a little but it hasn't cleared it up completely. It's not so bad that I have considered taking her to the doctor. I'm not a fan of prescription medications. Even acne meds. You wouldn't know it looking at my medicine cabinet. I give the kids their daily medications as the doctor says but I don't exactly take mine like I should. I hate taking medicine. I do it for the first week or so and then it usually goes in the cabinet until I get around to flushing it. If it's not needed to keep them alive, healthy or treat a serious condition we prefer not to take it. Anyway.. I thought this would be an excellent product to try out on her.

The day that it arrived I opened it and checked it out before giving it to her. I wanted to see what consistency, etc it was before giving it to her and to also make sure it wasn't something that she may be sensitive to. It is a thin yellow oil. I was surprised that it does not have a smell. Most beauty products have some type of scent but this one does not. I really like that because everyone in my house is very sensitive to smells. Strong smells give us headaches. I used a little just to try it out and see how it went on. It is an oil but once it is applied it dries almost instantly. It doesn't leave your skin feeling oily. It has a soft moisturized feel but it also has a feeling that almost reminds me of how skin feels when you apply baby powder. It's hard to describe, but it's a really good feeling. I have applied face products hours before bed only to wake up the next morning and have to wash my pillow case and pillow. I am not a fan of laundry..I sure don't want to wake up to dirt pillows every day. I really like that this dries basically instantly but still moisturizes.
It doesn't work instantly. It took about a week for me to notice a difference in her skin. Right now she has 1 pimple. She didn't have horrible skin but it wasn't uncommon for her to have 4 or 5 at once. Her skin also feels smoother and looks brighter. She doesn't wear makeup yet so it's easy to notice any changes on her. She has commented several times about how much better her face feels.
