Raise your hand if you are allergic to everything!  (Everyone in my house just raised their hands.)  I never experienced ANY issues with allergies when I lived in Louisiana, once I moved to Mississippi I suddenly became allergic to everything.  I'm not saying that I'm allergic to Mississippi but..  I didn't sneeze nearly as much on the other side of the river.

We are allergic to cats, pollen, grass, dust..there are several more things.  I have a list.  Thankfully no food or medication allergies for the kiddos, just those pesky seasonal/pet allergies.  We have a cat.  I knew I am allergic to cats when we got the cat but I really wanted a cat...that's what they make Benadryl for anyway.  Had I known that all of the kids were allergic to cat dander also I probably would not have gotten a cat.  Have you ever tried to bathe a cat?  Try it..it's something that you only try once.  Seriously..try it.  While you are doing it, have someone else video it and submit the video to our site.  We will then post them all and vote on which is the most entertaining ;)

Part of being allergic to everything is trying to keep all of those things out of the house.  That's impossible so we try to keep them out of the bedrooms and limit them throughout the rest of the house.  That means cleaning the return air filters twice a month, air filters in each of the vents in all of the bedrooms, allergy covers on beds and pillows, blinds instead of curtains, all bedding and curtains that we do have get washed weekly in hot water, no animals in the bedrooms, carpets get shampooed weekly, dusting twice a week...you get where I am going with this.  Then we have Zyrtec, Singulair and Flonase..antibiotics every 6 weeks or so for a pesky sinus infection.  It's a pain in the bootay.

Well, I was presented with the chance to review The Ecology Works Anti-Allergy Solution recently.  It may have been a coincidence or they could have known that their product actually works great and that I would turn into a lifelong customer...50/50 chance on what happened here :)

The The Ecology Works Anti-Allergy Solution is non-toxic and safe to use around kids and pets.  It can be applied directly to most washable carpets, upholstery, bedding, linens and curtains.  Keep in mind that it is NOT intended to control fleas. 

This product can be used as a spray, used in hot water vacuum machines or in the washing machine.  I chose to use it in the washing machine and in my carpet cleaner.  The bottle gives detailed directions on how to use/mix the product for each of the uses.

I used the product during my weekly cleaning last week.  I cleaned my son's bed and washed his bedding with the The Ecology Works Anti-Allergy Solution since he seems to have the most severe allergies. (I think the cat sneaks in him room and sleeps on his bed during the day sometimes when he forgets to close his door).  I have since noticed a huge difference in the mornings when he gets up.  He usually wakes up stuffy and sniffing.  He has not had that issue since I washed his bedding and cleaned his bed with this solution.  It is almost time to clean it all again and I will certainly be using the The Ecology Works Anti-Allergy Solution again.  I am also planning to use it throughout the entire house.  I hope to see improvements as great as his in everyone else.

A person can never have enough extension cords.  There is always a use for more, especially during the holiday season.  I know I use them constantly.  The Christmas tree is not beside an outlet.  The furniture is not near an outlet.  I think that there is a conspiracy to design homes with outlets in the most inconvenient places.  I have 6 outlets in my living room alone yet not one of them is in a convenient place.

I am one of "those" moms.  You know what I'm talking about.  The moms whose kids never get anything from the souvenir shop because in an effort to be original and cute we spelled their names "wrong".  My daughter's name is Cheyanne.  Most spell it Cheyenne..I threw an A in there.  It works for me.  Anne is spelled with an A so I just simply spell it like it sounds.

I like finding good deals.  I actually spend a great deal of time looking for the best deals.  As a mother, I have learned that the best deal doesn't always have anything to do with the amount on the price tag, it can also be a combination of things.  There are 5 people in my house.  3 of those people are short and inherited their white-ness from me.  By white-ness I mean that we are basically transparent.  You can see our blood vessels through our skin because we are so white. A few basics:

As I waited for the Rash Guard to arrive I wasn't sure what to expect.  The shirt fits very snug.  I ordered my husband's regular size.  It is a little tight, before ordering, it is best to view the sizing chart just to make sure that you are order the correct size since they seem to run a tad small.  The first thing I noticed about the shirt is how soft it is.  It's feels so nice that I was actually very tempted to steal it from my husband and just keep it for myself!  The first time that he used it outdoors was to do some weekend yard work.  He planned on being outside for most of the day and didn't want to worry with applying sunscreen.  He started with cleaning the pool and noticed that this shirt did not absorb water and become heavy.  It was dry within minutes of exiting the pool.  He spent the remainder of the day mowing and cleaning outside.  By the end of the day I expected to be burning the shirt because of the amount of sweat in it but it was surprisingly fairly dry.  His skin was also very dry under the shirt, even with the shirt being long sleeve.  It also did a wonderful job of protection him from the sun (without applying any expensive sunscreen).  He stated that the shirt was extremely comfortable to wear all day and was much easier and more comfortable to work in than the t-shirts that he normally wears.   Since it has gotten cooler he has also worn the Rash Guard under his shirts and it is very warm.  He hasn't needed to wear a coat when he has it on. 

This shirt is very well made and is so comfortable to wear.  The product description does not do it justice.  It is excellent for use during workouts and water sports but is also a great shirt for outdoor weekend work.  I believe even construction workers and other men that work outdoors full time would really find benefit in owning this Rash Guard.

It is so hard to find a good set of makeup brushes and a good set can be so expensive.  I recently received a set of the Andre' Lorent Makeup Brushes to review.  They couldn't have arrived at a better time.  My current brushes were in horrible shape and I needed to replace them. 

These brushes arrived in a very nice white storage container. The container looks wonderful sitting on my makeup table. The container is also great for multiple reasons.  It protects the brushes from dirt and damage and also makes traveling with the brushes easy.  The container is very well made and is held closes by snaps on each side. 

Inside the container are 5 brushes.  The brushes are made of high quality synthetic hair, which is more hygienic and durable than natural hair brushes.  The set includes a foundation brush, powder/blush brush, angled liner brush, eyeshadow brush and lip brush. 

The Andre' Lorent Makeup Brushes are extremely soft and are a pleasure to use.  I have not experienced any shedding with these brushes like I have with so many in the past. I have used them many times and they still look and feel like new.  They are also very easy to clean.  Everything about this product has been designed with care, even the case that the brushes are stored in.  This is by far my favorite set of makeup brushes.

I recently received the opportunity to read and review the book Four Mothers by Shifra Horn.  I will admit I am far from a book critic.  I am not a professional and I certainly don't claim to be.  I would never insult someone's writing.  I simply read the book and give my opinion on it.  Some times I really enjoy the books and some times I don't.  That doesn't necessarily mean that it's a good or bad book. It's just simply means that it is something that I personally did or did not enjoy.  I say that because I always read reviews before I pick up a book.  Well, unless it's John Grisham.  I'm slightly obsessed with him.  It's a very small amount..hardly even worth a restraining order.  Anyway, I have read reviews that just dog out writers and then I have bought the book just because I felt horrible for them after reading the review...and actually enjoyed the book.  I say all of that to say this.  Books are hard to review..probably the hardest thing ever!  I stay so busy with other things that it takes me weeks to finish reading it and then reviewing it without giving away the entire story..goodness its hard lol.  Just because a certain book isn't something that I find interesting doesn't mean it isn't a great book or that someone else wouldn't completely love it!

I just finished up Four Mothers by Shifra Horn.  The good thing about doing book reviews is that it has gotten me out of my comfort zone.  I have not been offered one John Grisham book to review...that's my comfort zone.  I have really enjoyed the time spent reading some different types of books.  I have read several books that I doubt I would have if I weren't doing reviews.  This is one of those books.  This book takes place in Israel and discusses the struggles of 5 generations of women.  It goes into great detail describing a family whose women are cursed.  It speaks of wealth, poverty, fame, fortune.  It is actually very inspiring.  It shows how no matter what the women of the family have survived and prospered through it. 

It is a rather long book. I think that going into such detail is part of what makes the book so interesting.  It allows you to get to know each of the women and have a connection with them.  I normally wouldn't have chosen this type of book but I am so happy that I did take time to ready it. I would certainly recommend it to anyone that enjoys reading.

So much power in such a little bottle!  It still amazes me how a little tiny bottle of cream can 1. be so powerful and 2. last so long.

ROAR! There is a dinosaur at the door!!  Now, that's not something that you hear very often. 

I live in a house full of dinosaur nuts.  The boy kid has a hundred dinosaurs of varying sizes and the smallest girl kid is currently obsessed with Jurassic Park.  My life basically revolves around dinosaurs at this point.  I didn't think that there was a dinosaur toy that we didn't own until I saw the Dinosaur T-Rex Room Guard.

We have dinosaurs that walk and dinosaurs that roar.  We certainly do not have a dinosaur that GUARDS!  This dinosaur is so stinking cool!  I have actually really enjoyed playing with it (don't tell anyone that).  First off, it doesn't just roar.  It is a room guard.  It has a motion sensor in it's chest.  When it is set to guard mode it roars when it detects movement!  It's a guard dinosaur!  How cool is that?! Perfect for keeping older sisters out of the little brother's personal space.  If you have kids like mine it can also be fun for scaring people.  An example would be hiding the dinosaur and waiting for someone (such as their mother) to walk by and finding it hilarious when she nearly kills herself jumping because of the unexpected roar.  Yeah, no one at MY house would do that...moving on. 

This dinosaur also has a slide projector in it's chest.  It comes with 3 slide disks showing many types of dinosaurs.  When the projector is turned on these are projected onto the wall.  You can focus the picture by moving the dinosaur's arm.  The slides are stored in a hidden compartment on the dinosaur's back.  I love that because small items tend to be lost in the bottom of toy boxes at our house.  The kids have really enjoyed looking at the slides of all of the different types of dinosaurs.  I like the educational possibilities, it keeps them curious about dinosaurs and holds their interest in learning more about them.  Another cool feature is that the projector has also doubled as a very cool nightlight in our son's room!  He enjoys falling asleep to the dinosaurs much better than just a plain light.
