Who remembers Mario??  I think that was the last time I actually played a game that wasn't Solitaire.  To say games have changed since then is an understatement.

I have been playing Nancy Drew Labyrinth of Lies over the past couple of days.  It's definitely nothing like the Mario games of my day.  The graphics are just amazing.  This isn't the easiest game I have ever attempted to play.  I still haven't completed it.  But then again what fun is a game that doesn't challenge you?!  In this game you are Nancy and you are hired to assist with a much anticipated event at a museum.  Artifacts are disappearing and you have to discover the truth behind the disappearances.

This is the first Nancy Drew game that I have played.  There are a total of 31 Nancy Drew adventure games.  This game is rated for ages 10 and up.  I believe that would be a fair age group to assign it to.  This game is probably more challenging to me than it would be for someone in that age group that has more experience with gaming.

The game offers Amateur and Master Sleuth levels for beginners and more advanced players.  I began on Amateur and hope to move to Master after a few more days of practice.  To move forward in the game you are required to solve challenging puzzles based on actual Greek myths and artwork.  I found it very interesting that this was brought into the game.  It does have a mild violence rating however, I have not found any situations in the game that would make me uncomfortable allowing my children to play it.

It takes a little bit to get the hang of it and figure out where the game is going but once you do it is very entertaining.  I have really enjoyed playing it.  I have enjoyed the puzzle aspect of it.  It's more than just playing a game.  You have to really work to solve the mystery and pay close attention to ensure that you don't miss out on any of the clues. It has been a great intro into the world of modern games for me!  I am anxious to finish it up and solve the mystery.  I'm sure that once I finish my daughter will be stealing it to play.

It is rated for ages 10 and up but I think that many adults will enjoy playing it also.  This game can be purchased through their Amazon listing which can be found here.
