I am what you would call old school.  We have IPhones, an IPad, laptops, HD TV's and all of that tech type stuff but as far as being a techy.. I am not.  My knowledge of HD consists of which channels on the guide have HD beside them.  I have never actually sat back and noticed the difference in high definition and standard definition.  I have just assumed that there wasn't really that big of a difference.

Ainsley doesn't like to sit still to eat so when she eats lunch everyday I turn the tv so that it is facing the dining room and let her watch Sponge Bob.  It holds her attention long enough for her to get a full meal down.  A few weeks ago I was turning the tv back to face the living room furniture and bumped the sound bar.  When I did it fell and broke the HDMI cable connecting the satellite receiver and the tv.  I quickly ran to Walmart and replaced the cable for less than $10 and all was fine...until a few days later when I noticed that the sound and the picture would randomly vanish.  It turns out that sometimes cheap isn't the best option.  I started researching and found that quality HDMI cables can be VERY expensive.  That just sucks, especially when you are as cheap as I am AND you are annoyed because you are the one that broke the perfectly fine cable in the first place.  To make matters even worse was the look of "I told you so" I would get from the hubby every time the sound or picture would go out and he would have to turn the tv off/on to get it back.  I wasn't about to admit that I was wrong or spend $50.00 on a cable.  Mostly..I wasn't going to admit that I was wrong.

Well, I received the opportunity to review the Solid Cordz 4K HDMI Cables.  The day they arrived the hubby connected it to the tv in the main living room and even I instantly noticed a drastic difference in the quality of the picture.  It was like night and day!  I am still amazed at the difference a simple cord can make but I figured it was because I unknowingly bought a very bad one and decided to take the testing to the next level.  I replaced the cable in the kids playroom.  Their cable was fine.  They actually had a very good one.  It was still the original one from when the hubby upgraded to HD because "we couldn't live without it" because he needed to see every detail of every single hit of every single football game.  Oh, and lets not forget the always necessary blood spraying from whatever animal they are shooting on today's episode of Let's Sits In The Woods And Kill Something And Then Eat It.  Anyway, their cable was much better than the one that was on our tv and once again after replacing it with the Solid Cordz cable I noticed a huge difference in the picture quality.  The picture is clearer and more defined.  The best way I can think to describe it is imagine looking at your tv without your glasses on and then with them on.  It really makes that drastic of a difference in the picture.

I priced HDMI cables just a few weeks ago and learned that a quality one is very expensive.  After seeing the difference in the Solid Cordz cable and the inexpensive cable that I had purchased I was very surprised by the price of the Solid Cordz cable.  They are listed on Amazon today for $29.99 with Prime and that includes 2 cables.  That is a steal! I paid about 1/2 of that for the 1 cable that I purchased and it is no where near this quality.  I would certainly recommend this to anyone that is in need of an HDMI cable.

There are also other uses for the Solid Cordz HDMI cables.  Here are a few words from Solid Cordz:

6ft High Speed HDMI® Cable with Ethernet 28 AWGHDMI® provides an interface between any audio/video source, such as set-top boxes, Blue-ray Disc players, DVD players, video game consoles, AV receivers and an audio and/or video monitor, such as digital television or plasma monitor, over a single cable. Our High Speed HDMI® cables with Ethernet have been designed to meet the performance standards set by HDMI 1.4 and have passed stringent Category 2 testing. They are backward compatible to all previous versions.
Below are the major enhancements introduced in the HDMI 1.4 specification
• HDMI® Ethernet Channel - The HDMI 1.4 specification adds a data channel to the HDMI® connection, enabling high-speed, bi-directional communication. Connected devices that include this feature can send and receive data via 100 Mb/sec Ethernet, making them instantly ready for any IP-based application
.• Audio Return Channel - The new specification adds an audio channel that will reduce the number of cables required to deliver audio "upstream" from a TV to an A/V receiver for processing and playback. In cases where a TV features an internal content source, such as a built-in tuner or DVD player, the Audio Return Channel allows the TV to send audio data upstream to the A/V receiver via the HDMI cable, eliminating the need for an extra cable.
• 3D Support - The 1.4 version of the specification defines common 3D formats and resolutions for HDMI-enabled devices, enabling 3D gaming and other 3D video applications.
• 4K Resolution Support - The new specification enables HDMI devices to support extremely high HD resolutions, effectively four times the resolution of a 1080p device. Support for 4K allows the HDMI interface to transmit digital content at the same resolution as the state-of-the-art Digital Cinema systems used in many movie theaters.
